Steps to creating your web

1] Purchase a web hosting account

You need a web-server to "serve" your pages to your site visitors. Sign up for a web-hosting account and you will have your webspace, email addresses and many other features.

Now you have a web-server. Depending on your level of expertise and available time you can do some or all of the next steps by yourself.

2] Choose a template design

For all but the most basic websites we recommend a template based  "content management system". The template defines the overall look and feel of the site and is consistent through all your site's pages. (The management system allows you to easily edit the content of the site via your web browser.) There are many readily available templates which can be modified to your requirements. This gives professional results in much less time than designing from scratch.

>> See Choose your style for examples.

When you have made your choice you can install the template or have us install it for you.

3] Create content

You then login to your new site and start typing your page content using the WYSIWYG (what-you-see-is-what-you-get) editor. You will be able to quickly generate a few essential pages. Meanwhile the table of contents and sitemap will automatically update to reflect your changes.

At this stage you may upload some images to include in your pages. See the help section for more details on this.

4] Register a domain name

This is optional. You can use "mywebsite.wwwonder.com" (choose your own name for mywebsite) at no additional cost but for as little as about €10/$12/£8 per year you can register a .com or .net domain name. Some top level domains (country codes) are more expensive..

See domain name for a more detailed discussion on this.

World Wide Wonder can do all of the above or, especially if you are on a low budget, enough to set up a site and get you going.
